Chickpea Pancakes

Chickpea Pancake is an Indian Vegan Pancake, It is a savory dish cooked with mixture of Chickpea Flour &water, topped with onions, tomato, coriander & spices like cumin seeds & paprika powder/Cayenne pepper.

Ingredients:

 Chickpea Flour - 150 gram

 Water - 200 ml

 Onion - 1  small sized

 Tomato - 1 small sized

 Green chilly - 2

Coriander leaves - little

 Salt - 1 tsp 

 Spices:

  Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

  Chilly Powder - 1 tsp or Cayenne pepper -1 tsp

Method of preparation:

 1. Finely chop onion, tomatoes, green chilly & coriander leaves

 2. Take a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt ,paprika powder/cayenne pepper mix well add water, whisk well until lumps are removed 

 3. Rest it for 30 mins (it helps Chickpea flour absorbs water & it to turn lighter)

 4. Now add cumin seeds, onion, tomato, green chilly, coriander leaves & mix well

 5. Switch on the stove, flame level medium , place a pan and wait until it is heated

 6. Take one ladle of batter and pour on the pan, spread it, cook for 2 minutes, you can add 1/2 tsp of oil if required

 7. Turn on the other side & cook for 2 to 3 minutes

Note:

It tastes best, when it is served warm .It can also be served with tomato ketchup.

1 teaspoon=5 ml
